About Tessa Harris

I have 12 years employment litigation experience having specialised in Tribunal cases since starting my legal career at Lyons Davidson in 2011, fresh out of University having completed by Legal Practice Course (LPC) in Summer of 2011.

I have significant experience in acting for and advising individuals and companies in the Employment Tribunal and supported them through settlement negotiations to avoid the litigation process.

With that experience, I am able to regularly advise clients on prospects of possible claims and assist them with avoiding litigation through settlement decisions and advise on employment termination packages.

Having had experience acting for companies in all different sectors from healthcare, education, technology to food and industrial services, I consider that I am able to assist individuals more in advising them on their cases and the prospect of settlement, putting myself in the mind frame of the employer.

I regularly advise on a wide range of employment matters from complex to straight forward issues. I have a particular interest in disability discrimination and long term ill health capability processes of which I have extensive knowledge and experience in having tended to gravitate to those type of cases.

I have often been described by clients as a good listener, providing clear, concise advice and support. I pride myself in being very organised and will always seek to find a solution where there may not be one on the face of it.

Having studied employment law as a module during my LPC, I knew straight away that this was the area of law I wanted to specialise in. The majority of the people in our country work or have worked and as such, the law affects almost everyone including myself. As such, being in an area of law which is so relatable and prevalent to so many is exciting and inspiring to do the best for my clients.
